How We Work

There are three basic types of wedding photography studios out there: boutique studios, high volume studios, and co-op studios. 

Boutique Studios are essentially one person operations that charge you a premium for premium services. They focus on delivering a great customer service experience from start to finish and put a lot of time and care into all stages of the wedding. From booking, to planning, to shooting with multiple assistants, to high end editing processes, they are top of the line. They also allow you to reserve their services a year or more in advance. 

High volume studios hire weekend warriors who don't make a living with a camera but have just enough experience to qualify to shoot a wedding. These studios attract brides by offering rock bottom prices, you don't know what you're going to get but you're getting one heck of a deal! 

Co-Op Studios like Sunset Coast help fill the void between the high priced high service Boutique Studios and the low-rent, low-quality High Volume Studios. We connect brides who value great photography but might not have a huge budget with talented photographers who would love to shoot more but don't have enough time to take on any more high end weddings. Sunset Coast Studios features a lead photographer, Jim, and a network of talented lead and associate photographers.

How does Sunset Coast Studios work for Brides? 

You get a very talented photographer, Jim or one of our network of talented photographers. If you value great photography but don't need a whole lot of hand holding, in person meetings, a fancy album, or excessive re-touching then Sunset Coast could be a great fit for you! We help you come up with the perfect photography schedule and match you to the best available photographer between 4 & 6mo before a wedding date. At this point you'd find out exactly who will be shooting your wedding and we'll send them your details and help arrange a call where you can go over the plans for your wedding day together.

How does this work for the Photographers?

Because Sunset Coast handles the booking, planning, and post processing for all of their weddings the photographers only have to pick up one days worth of work. They don't have to commit to time consuming sales meetings, planning calls, or hours upon hours of post processing. Sunset Coast lets photographers focus on what they love which is Shooting, we handle the rest which means they're free to pick up a couple of extra weddings every year without having to worry about sacrificing the one on one service they're providing their high end clients. High end photographers are willing to work with us because we don't make them commit to a date until 4-6mo out, at this point it's unlikely they'll pick up any additional high end weddings and they're able to judge their work load for a given month and commit to working with you the bride!
